Inside the Instagram COMMENT funnel: the full architecture
You’ve seen a thousand posts saying “COMMENT PDF and I’ll DM it to you”. Behind that comment sits a 4-piece funnel. Here’s the architecture I use — including the part almost nobody shows: what happens AFTER the click.
The 4 pieces
Post (COMMENT X) → Automated DM → Capture page → Delivery + list
- Trigger post: the keyword comment is the interest signal. The algorithm still rewards the engagement.
- Automated DM: ManyChat (free tier exists) or Meta’s native automation replies to the comment with a link. ALWAYS use the official API — unofficial automation gets accounts banned.
- Capture page: the DM link points to
/g/[keyword]on MY domain. The page asks for name + email and delivers the asset. This is where a follower (owned by Meta) becomes a lead (owned by me). - Delivery + tracking: the asset arrives via redirect or download, and the click is logged with UTM and campaign — I know which post performed.
The most common mistake
Sending the DM straight to Google Drive. It works… and leaves you blind: no data, no list, no remarketing. The funnel’s asset is the LIST, not the freebie.
What it costs
- ManyChat free tier: $0
- Capture page + analytics on my own site: $0/month (Cloudflare)
- The only real cost: the domain (~$10/year)
The capture page, tracking and link-in-bio of this funnel are exactly what I teach you to build (with AI writing the code) in Your Funnel Site with Claude Code.
